The Time Lapse 360° de Martin

115 years ago, June 24, 1893, the Norwegian Fridtjof Nansen and his companions left Oslo on board the Fram, to what the Royal Geographical Society of London then considered the draft's most dangerous ever conceived: a drift through the Arctic Ocean. The existence of a polar current and imagine that a ship can withstand ice pressure, was utopian to many. The Fram is a ship that was used to polar exploration in succession by the Norwegian explorer Fridtjof Nansen, Otto Sverdrup and Roald Amundsen between 1893 and 1912. It is a three-masted schooner of 39 meters long and 11 meters wide, designed by Norwegian naval architect Colin Archer in anticipation of the Nansen expedition, during which she was to be caught by the pack to drift over the North Pole. The expedition managed to get caught in the ice, and came out three years later. The Fram is now on display in Oslo and kept in a museum dedicated to him, the Frammuseet. This adventure is to be compared with another expedition, completed in late January 2008 the Tara. The expedition 'Tara Arctic' project was also being caught in the ice to study the ice drift. The boat went over the North Pole than the previous expedition, and has remained imprisoned ice 'only' 1 year and a half... At each draw conclusions that wish...

Some efforts later, here I am at 6189m, the summit of Island Peak. I take this opportunity to go out again with all my camera gear (over 5kg: Two boxes, 3 goals, memory cards, batteries, tripod, pan head, and a bag to put everything), I door since the beginning of the stay in order to achieve this panorama cloudy... The view is a little bite, there are some clouds... However, we can clearly see the Lhotse in front of us, at 8516m altitude, near Mount Everest! For the descent, we will use an 8 with fixed ropes, to be faster at the bottom, because it's really bad! We go through the High Camp, then the Base Camp and then we continue our descent to descend low enough in the evening... at the altitude of Mont Blanc! We arrived at about 15:45 Chhunkhung, it's been almost eleven o'clock walk, 600m of vertical to positive, negative and 1450m. We have slept nine nights at an altitude higher than Mont Blanc!...

Eckmühl lighthouse is a lighthouse located on the edge of St. Pierre, Penmarch, in Brittany in France. It measures more than 60 meters high. It was inaugurated October 17, 1897 and is named after the noble title of the donor who largely funded. It secures one of the most dangerous coastlines in France because of its many reefs. Its walls are built entirely of granite Kersanton and the inner wall of the staircase is covered with opaline plates. It is now one of the most visited monuments of Finistère. The lighthouse is the subject of a classification as historical monuments since May 23, 2011.

In France, we call this day 'race and crossing edge'... It is difficult to cross a mountain pass, and today, nobody got hurt! Thile is relieved when everyone arrives at the camp, and at night we used a kind of rum! However, at 4900m, the head turns quickly because we are almost fasting since the night before (express breakfast in the morning, midday snack and neck)....

Nepal is a crossroads of different civilisations, at the junction of 2 huge cultural zones: Hindu India and Buddhist Tibet. A prayer wheel is a cultural object used by Tibetans practising Buddhism. The traditional prayer wheel is made of a cylinder filled with mantras and free to turn around an axle. The wheels are set in motion one after the other by the believer who walks in front of them (the same spiritual value as the prayer). The believer sets the wheels with his right hand. The wheel must turn clockwise so that the mantra is read in the way it was written.

The descent of the High Camp is painful, not only because the bad weather returns (we did well not to attempt the summit), but in addition the trace has disappeared, with the snow the day before: you can not see the cracks, and the Sherpas are not sufficiently well equipped in that dusty! This panorama was taken the next morning, in a steep canyon and snowy! However, carriers prefer to move to shorter: we have had the opportunity to tour this small rocky outcrop, 1:30 to walk more... ...
